This site is built upon a detailed dataset that includes every sustained or not yet adjudicated violation citation from all full or special program inspections conducted up to three years prior to the most recent inspection for active establishments as of the record date.

What Does This Site Offer?

Here, you'll find detailed information about the inspections conducted on various dining establishments, whether they resulted in violations or not. The dataset encompasses records of:

- Restaurants and Cafeterias: Only those establishments that are currently active are included, though thousands of restaurants start and cease operations annually.
- Violation Records: Each inspection that resulted in one or more violations is documented, with relevant fields repeated for each violation.
- Permit Applications: Establishments that have applied for a permit but have not yet been inspected are also listed.
- Non-violations: Inspections that resulted in no violations are also included, with such establishments represented by a single row indicating no violations.

Data Integrity

The dataset is compiled from multiple large administrative systems, which may lead to some illogical values or errors due to data entry or transfer issues. There might also be missing data points.
